Born in Cuttack, Odisha, he showed an early passion for technology and business. At the age of 17, he moved to Delhi to pursue entrepreneurship, eventually being selected for the prestigious Thiel Fellowship, becoming the first Indian to receive it.
Ritesh started his journey with a small venture called Oravel Stays, an online platform to book budget rooms. In 2013, he transformed it into OYO Rooms, focusing on standardizing budget hotels across India.
