Donald John Trump (born 14 June 1946) is an American politician, media personality, and former real-estate developer who served as the 45th and 47th president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was involved in real estate and entertainment, including hosting the television programme The Apprentice.

Donald Trump was born on 14 June 1946 in Queens, New York City, to Fred and Mary Anne Trump. He attended the New York Military Academy and later studied at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1968 with a degree in economics. He joined his family’s real-estate business, which became known as the Trump Organization, and worked on residential, commercial, and hospitality properties. In 2004, Trump became the host of the reality television programme The Apprentice, bringing him broader public recognition. He announced his candidacy for president in 2015 and won the 2016 election. He served as president from January 2017 to January 2021, and returned to office in January 2025 after winning the 2024 election.
